Dallas Cameron Mccredie

DALLAS C. MCCREDIE STAUNTON, VA... Dallas Cameron McCredie, 87, passed away on July 25, 2012. A 27 year resident of 608 Fielding Place, Staunton and recent resident of Emeritus at Staunton. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Wilson Moore McCredie, who passed away in November 2011, sisters, Clara MacDonald, Agnes Levedag and Elizabeth Davies, and parents, William David and Alice (Blundell) Cameron. She is survived by her three children and grandchildren, Wendy A. Harman and Jerry of Staunton, (Alicia, Kim, Mark), Ian D. McCredie and Debbie of Dover, Delaware, (Shevawn, Tara), and Gail P. Faherty and Matthew of Vernon, Connecticut, (Brent, Heather); and 6 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Eileen Spence of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and many dear nieces and nephews. Dallas had a wonderful life living in interesting places and what great stories she could tell. Born in Kobe, Japan, she moved to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1938 as WWII broke out in Europe. Dallas lived throughout Canada and in Mississippi, when Bill was in the RAF, ultimately moving to New Jersey for Bill's job with Princeton University. After retirement to Staunton, Dallas enjoyed yearly trips out West with Bill, visiting family and friends. She was a warm and beautiful lady with a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all. Enjoying simple things like a "cup a' tea", looking at the birds at the feeder, and enjoying a beautiful day. A memorial service will be held on August 25, 2012, at Marquis Memorial UMC, West Beverly St., Staunton, at 1PM.
