DANN C. MCDORMAN STAUNTON, VA Dann Curtis McDorman, 57, of 215 Myrtle Street, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at his residence. He was born July 19, 1955, in Staunton a son of the late James E. and Joyce (Lilley) McDorman. Mr. McDorman retired from the U. S. Army, Fort Lee, as SFC with 23 years of service. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Noncommissioned Officer professional Development Ribbon, the Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. He retired from the Staunton Department of Corrections with 8 years of service. He was a member of Staunton Seventh Day Adventist Church. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Danny S. and Caroline McDorman of Brooklyn, NY; a daughter, Jennifer N. McDorman of Staunton; a brother, James E. McDorman, Jr. of South Boston; two sisters, Donna C. Booth of Richmond and Jo Ellen Wilson of Stuarts Draft; and three grandchildren, Logan N. McDorman-Hilbert, Beatrice I. McDorman, and Vivian A. McDorman. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Pastor Daniel U. Darrikhuma. Burial will follow in Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery with full military honors . The family will receive friends anytime at the residence.
