DAVID P. TURNER STAUNTON, VA David Phillips Turner, 88, widower of Mary Frances (Roane) Turner, of 1125 Stuarts Draft Highway, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at his residence. He was born September 28, 1924, in Staunton a son of the late Dr. Herbert S. and Elizabeth (Phillips) Turner. Mr. Turner was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was a graduate of VPI. Mr. Turner had owned Green Pastures Dairy and prior to retirement was employed by Hershey Chocolate He was a lifetime member of Bethel Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, David D. Turner and Timothy R. and Julie McCray Turner, all of Staunton; a brother, Herbert S. Turner of Florida; four grandchildren; and a great grandchild. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013, in Bethel Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Phil Sommer and Clifford D. Caldwell. Burial will be private. Friends may visit the family at the home of Tim and Julie Turner. Memorials may be made to 21st Century Fund at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 563 Bethel Green Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
