DAVID E. WOLFE GROSECLOSE, VA David Ernest Wolfe, 70, passed away Thursday August 29, 2013 at his home in Groseclose, Virginia. Mr. Wolfe was born in Smyth County, VA to the late Neal James Wolfe & Margaret Elizabeth Coley Wolfe and was preceded in death by his wife Marty Wolfe. He was a retired police officer from the Western State Hospital in Staunton. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, David "Tony" and Elizabeth Wolfe of Waynesboro; a brother, Tom Coley of Marion; a sister, Virginia Owens of Groseclose; three step-sons, Tim Goepel, Andy Goepel, and Matt Goepel; six grandchildren, Lisa Wolfe, Amy Knight, A.J. Jackson, Drew Goepel, Kimberly Cook, and Daniel Goepel; three great grandchildren, McKenzie Cook, Ashton Cook, and Kaleb Cook; the love of his life, his dog, Buttons; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 3, 2013 at the Valley Baptist Church in Stuarts Draft with interment in Augusta Memorial Park. A visitation period will be held at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton on Monday evening from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.henryfuneralhome.net.
