Deloria T. Shaver

STAUNTON, VA…  Deloria “Toby” Jane (Tessier) Shaver, 68, wife of William A. Shaver, of West Augusta, passed away at her residence on Friday, April 15, 2016.  Mrs. Shaver was born October 31, 1947, the daughter of Louis A. Tessier and Sarah (Wells) Tessier.  She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. Mrs. Shaver was a homemaker.  She was previously affiliated with Planters Bank and United Virginia Bank.  In addition to her husband, Mrs. Shaver is survived by a son, Christopher Shaver and his wife, Beth of Swoope; a daughter, Jennifer Horn and her husband Tracy of Mt. Solon; a brother, Warren Tessier of Rochester, NY; two sisters, Joan Jackson of Franklinton, NC and Delores (Tessier) Riddle of Lyndhurst; seven grandchildren, Michael Carper, Danial Mason, McKenzie Edwards, Grayson Shaver, Kennedy Shaver, Katie Horn, and Megan Horn; a great grandchild, Rylan Cook; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, P. D.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Tessier, a sister, Lillian Mann and an uncle, Silas Wells.  A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Robert Hampshire.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleums & Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Tracy Horn, Michael Carper, Danial Mason, Colton Losh, Steve Carper, and Charles Cubbage.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
