DOLLIE B. MOON STAUNTON, VA Dollie Frances Burke Arnold Moon, 92, widow of George Frank Moon, passed away at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Augusta Nursing Home. She was born September 24, 1922, in Bells Valley, Goshen, VA a daughter of the late Walter Stuart and Bessie (Jackson) Burke. She attended Life Flow Church. She retired from Fiberspun, Richmond Times Dispatch, The News Virginian, Westinghouse, and Western State Hospital. She enjoyed word puzzles, reading, jigsaw puzzles, which she glued on cardboard to hang on the wall. She loved going places with her daughter and son-in-law and spending time with her granddaughter Teresa and great grandchildren Kaitlyn and Matt. She was a strong willed person and very independent, a jack of all trades, per se. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Arnold; a son, James S. Arnold; a grandson, Raymond (Sonny) Arnold; a brother, James Guy Burke; a sister, Marion Matheny Bradley. Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and Clarence (Willie) Armstrong of Staunton; a son, Stanley Arnold and a daughter-in-law, Patty Nicely Arnold of Missouri; nine grandchildren, Teresa Shields Harris of Fishersville, Kathy Arnold of Greenville, Richard Arnold of Staunton, Tammy Sein, Crystal Ray, G.W. Arnold, Eddy Arnold, and Dean Arnold, all of Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Ruby Arnold; 21 great grandchildren, six great, great grandchildren, and also two stepchildren, and four step-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2015, in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Revs. Richard Henley and Lynwood Wilkes. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2015, in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Life Flow Church, 12 Lincoln Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401.
