DOLLY JACKSON, JR. STAUNTON, VA Dolly Jackson, Jr., 82, husband of Virginia L. Jackson, of 5 East Avenue, died Saturday, September 15, 2012, in Envoy of Staunton. He was born January 1, 1930, in Fishersville a son of the late Dolly, Sr., and Leslie (Weaver) Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an over the road trucker, retiring from Jones Motor Lines with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Teamster Retirees Club Local 29. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, was a life member of the Verona Veterans of the Foreign Wars, the Staunton V.F. W. Post 2216, the American Legion Post 13 of Staunton. His hobbies include camping, fishing, and hunting. In addition to his wife, family members include a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas W. and Mary Jackson; two nieces, Linda Jackson and Joan Davis and her husband, Mark; and his pet, Ginny Lynn. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmar C. Jackson and Franklin D. Jackson. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2012, by the Rev. Russell L. Heinrich in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Graveside rites will be conducted by Staunton VFW Post 2216. The family will receive friends anytime at the residence. Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 420 Neff Ave., Suite 110, Harrisonburg, VA 22801. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
