STAUNTON, VA Donald Franklin Kraus, 68, husband of Mary Ann (Limoni) Kraus, of Staunton, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at his residence. He was born September 8, 1945, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, a son of the late William Lawrence and Lauretta Ann (Safford) Kraus. Mr. Kraus received his bachelor's degree in science from Gallaudet University and his master's degree in education from James Madison University. Prior to retirement, Mr. Kraus was a teacher at VSDB with 24 years of service. In addition to his wife, family members include three daughters, Julie A. Kraus and husband, Zachary R. Martin, Marie A. Dingess and husband, Brandon, and Laurie C. Kraus; a sister, Lavon M. Hanson; and a granddaughter, Hannah R. Dingess. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Father Joseph Wamala. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. There will be a time of remembrance at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following a service of remembrance in the funeral home until 8 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of the Shenandoah.
