DORIS B. CASON STAUNTON, VA Doris Ann (Buchanan) Cason, 62, wife of Robert E. Cason, of 1015 Peck Street, Staunton, died Sunday, May 15, 2011 in the UVA Medical Center, Charlottesville. She was born October 24, 1948 in McKinley, a daughter of the late Henry Franklin and Dorothy (Liptrap) Buchanan. Mrs. Cason was employed by Bears and Blankets Day Care for 16 years. She was a member of McKinley United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband of 30 years, family includes a son, Bruce E. Cason at home; three brothers and sisters-in-law, David H. and Shirley Buchanan, Charles F. and Ann Buchanan, and Roger L. and Sue Buchanan, all of Staunton; a special great aunt, Bessie Thompson; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (May 18, 2011) in the Henry funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Luke Smith and Keith May. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Perry Thompson, Roger Perry, Raymond Callison, Horace Wimmer, Roy Hartless, Joey Ayers, Ralph W. Cason, and Marvin Mahler. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Cason, Bob Rankin, Ralph Thompson, Dr. H. Lynn Moore, Jr., Ralph L. Cason, John Hartless, H. A. Buchanan, Jeff Gordon, Travis Cason, and Jeremy Cason. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:30 p.m. today Tuesday May 17, 2011) in the funeral home and at other times at her residence. The family would like to thank the staff of UVA Oncology 8 West Unit, Dr. Michael Douvas, the Staff at Envoy of Staunton, the ER and Intensive Care Unit of Augusta Health, and Dr. H. Lynn Moore, Jr.
