Dorothy Marie (Kellum) Wilkers

DOROTHY M. WILKERS  STAUNTON, VA… Dorothy Marie (Kellum) Wilkers, 91, widow of Charles D. Wilkers, of Staunton and formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Royal Care Assisted Living. She was born November 9, 1925, in Camden, NJ, a daughter of the late Earl and Harriet (Brown) Kellum. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. Family members include three sons, the Rev. Daniel Wilkers and wife, Judy, of Winston-Salem, NC, the Rev. Jack Wilkers and wife, Kathleen, of Staunton, and Gary Wilkers of Hamilton, VA; a sister, Ruth of Seven Palms, CA; and four grandchildren, Stephen and wife, Angela, Dorothy, Rachel and husband, Anthony, and Luke; two great grandchildren, Charlie and Danielle; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Earl. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 in Third Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Teri Summers-Minette and the Rev. Joseph Brandon. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers of Home Instead, Royal Care, and Intrepid Hospice of Staunton.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Coming to America” fund at Third Presbyterian Church, 1313 Barterbrook Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
