VERONA, VA… Dorothy “Dot” King, 69, widow of Larry L. King, of Verona, died Monday, July 4, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 12, 1947 in Honaker, VA, a daughter of the late George and Treva (Miller) Taylor. Dorothy was a retired waitress having worked at many restaurants including Armstrong’s, Rack’em Smack’em Ribs, and Brooks. She enjoyed NASCAR and her “soaps”, but mostly her loving family. Family members include her children, Robert Lee Taylor of Honaker, Sandra Michelle Sprouse and husband Michael of Waynesboro, and Dustin J. King of Verona; brothers and sisters, George P. Taylor, Jr., J.W. Taylor and wife Deborah, Masel Lee Taylor, Sr., Mahala Ball and husband Franklin, Rev. Kenneth Taylor and wife Sandy, Mary Lou Pettit and husband Randy, and Homer C. Taylor; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Jean Thompson. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the Henry Funeral Home. Burial will be private at a later date.
