Dorothy Frances Rankin

DOROTHY S. RANKIN STAUNTON, VA Dorothy Frances (Shover) Rankin, 88, wife of Paul Rankin, of 18 E. Liberty Street, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at her residence. She was born June 30, 1926, in Staunton, a daughter of the late Bessie Mae. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Rankin was employed by Genesco L. Grief and she was also a home caregiver. In addition to her husband, family members include five daughters, Brenda Coffey and friend, Wayne Miller, Linda Chandler and husband, Harry, Shirley Hall and husband, Bill, Dottie Jenkins and husband, Willie, and Bessie Edmond; six grandchildren, Lila Buchanan, Gloria Davis, Billy Botkin, T.J. Johnson and fiancée, Brittany Lambert, Amanda Thompson, and Kevin Coffey and girlfriend, Megan Macurak; 19 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ernest and Mary Lessley; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Morelock and husband, Harry. She also leaves behind two special pets, Tiny and Mickey. She was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Rankin and a brother, Buster Jordan. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Warren Knott. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be T.J. Johnson, Jonny Woolridge, Tod Jones, Ricky Buchanan, Jerry Armentrout, and Frederick Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Snyder, Carl Ward, Brad Clifton, and Patrick Kelley. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to the family, 18 E.
