Dorothy Louise (Southers) Zimbro Trainum, 91, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Trainium was born on May 22, 1927 in Opelika, Alabama to the late William James, Sr. and Elizabeth (Young) Southers. She retired from American Safety Razor Co. as an administrative assistant. She was also a volunteer at Augusta Health Hospital. Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving family members include three nieces and their husbands, Jennifer and Bruce Frank of Staunton, Sherri and Leroy Wheeler of Buena Vista and Beth and Steve Slagle of Buena Vista; and special friends, Bonnie and John Thompson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, B.K. Zimbro and her second husband, William T. Trainum, and her two brothers, William James Southers, Jr. and Roy Clyde Southers. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in the Henry  Funeral Home Chapel by  Mr. Danny Pritchett.  Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at her niece, Jenna Frank’s residence. Active pallbearers will be John Thompson, Randy Patterson, Gary Chandler, Bob Kaine, Eric Pritchett, Scott Irving, Ed Lyman and Craig Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Kerry Alexander, Dr. Samuel Rowe, Dr. John Ferguson, Don Hashagen and Dr. Theodore McKee. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Stella Baker and Anna Aleshire, her hospice nurse, Allison Moterrozo, Dr. Kerry Alexander and Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah. Arrangements have been entrusted to Henry Funeral Home.
