DOUGLAS ALLEN REEVES  RAPHINE, VA… Douglas “Allen” Reeves, 18, of Raphine, gained his heavenly wings Monday, May 15, 2017. He was born on May 23, 1998 in Fishersville.   He was employed by Subway at White’s Truck Stop. Allen was a pending member of Raphine Fire and Rescue, which he had a passion for all his life. He loved fishing and all of his family and friends. He never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. He also had a place in his heart for his four dogs. He is survived by his mother, Lisa Falls Reeves and fiancé, Wayne Brown; father, Doug Reeves and wife, Kimberly Pullen Reeves; half-brother, Andrew Reeves of Staunton; step-brother, Daniel McManaway of Craigsville; maternal grandmother, Wanda Falls of Raphine; paternal grandparents, Gary and Brenda Hevener of Mt. Sidney; a very special girlfriend, Tabitha Sowell; two aunts and uncles, Kathy and Calvin Hemp, Jr. of Greenville and Carolyn and David Hemp of Middlebrook; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Eleanor Painter; his grandfathers, Dean Falls and Marshall Reeves, Sr.; and a step-grandfather, William Pullen. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2017 in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Olivia Haney. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be friends attending the service. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Raphine and Verona Fire and Rescue. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at family member’s homes.   Memorials may be made to SpiritHorse Shenandoah Valley Therapeutic Riding Center, 13 Shawnee Trail, Raphine, VA 24472.
