DYLAN M. HAYS GREENVILLE, VA Dylan Michael Hays, 21, of Greenville raced into the arms of his Lord in the earliest hour of January 24, 2013, while riding in his pickup. Our family was blessed with the birth of Dylan on December 28, 1991. The family has lost their storyteller, fisherman, hunter, free spirited adventurer, and student of life. His loss is felt by his loving and devoted parents, Michael and Cyndy (Phillips) Hays; his sister, Lily Hays; his paternal maw, Patricia Mae Hays; his maternal grammy, Lorene (Carr) Brooks and her husband, Buryl; his paternal aunts and uncle, Valerie F. Hays, Kimberely H. Graves and Carl E. Graves, Jr; maternal aunts and uncles, Carr-Lou (Phillips) Davis, Dottie (Phillips) and Curtis VanFossen, and Hiram C. Phillips, III; paternal cousin, Lindsey R. Graves; maternal cousins, Carrsha Eavers, Tessa Rae Davis, and many other special cousins; and the woman who held his heart-his wife, Ashley Sorrells Hays. Dylan was preceded in death by his parental grandfather, Charles Franklin "Frank" Hays and his maternal grandfather, Hiram Clifford "Jr" Phillips. Dylan was a 2010 graduate of Riverheads High School and attended Dabney Lancaster Community College. He was a member and leaves many cherished memories at Vesuvius Baptist Church and had recently chose to strengthen his faith with the help of Pastor Matthew Coiner. Dylan was an employee of Dynamic Construction Services Inc. The family wants to thank the church family, the work family, and Dylan's friends for your presence, support, and wonderful stories you have shared with us. Bryan Jarvis, Jason Grimm, and Tammy Davis, we love you and thank you for the help and support you have given the family. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013, in the Vesuvius Baptist Church by the Rev. Matthew Coiner. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Huffman, Bryan Jarvis, Jason Grimm, Nathan Aistrop, Randall Gibson, and Will Fiske. Honorary pallbearers will be close friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013 in the Henry Funeral Home and at other times at his parent's residence at 5713 Lee Jackson Highway.
