Darrell R. Drake

Darrell Race Drake, 52, son of Race and Jean Drake passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2022 at his Washington D.C. residence.

In addition to his parents, Darrell is survived by his son, Charles H. Drake; his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Chris Wayne of Locust Grove, VA, and his nephew, Jackson M. Wayne; his aunt, Donna Drake of St. Augustine, FL; his uncle and aunt, Fred and Joy West of New Smyrna, FL.

Darrell was a 1988 graduate of Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind in Staunton and 1993 graduate of Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. For nearly 30 years he worked at National Science Foundation, Office of Inspector General as senior auditor.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church..

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Darrell may be made to: Athletics General Fund, Gallaudet University, Office of Development, 800 Florida Avenue N.E., Washington, D.C. 20002.
