Delphia Virginia Sorrells

DELPHIA V. SORRELLS RAPHINE, VA Delphia Virginia Sorrells, 85, of 75 Beulah Drive, Villa 2, Raphine, formerly of Vesuvius, died Thursday, April 2, 2015, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born July 31, 1929, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Lewis H. Sr., and Amanda (Miller) Sorrells. She was a member of Vesuvius Baptist Church, where she was also employed as a custodian with over 20 years of service. Family members include a sister, Frances S. Humphries of Raphine; a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis H., Jr. and Blanch Sorrells, of Fairfield; four nieces, Joyce H. Hinton and Janet H. Cobb, both of Staunton, Robin S. Carey of Waynesboro, and Lanny S. Price of Stuarts Draft; and a number of great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Matthew Coiner and Rev. Dr. Kevin Haynes. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Henry Black, Buryl Brooks, Joe Fauber, Lee Berkstresser, Bobby Berkstresser, Keith Fitzgerald, Frank Bahur, and Brian Carey. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. The family would like to thank the Beulah Land Campus for their friendship and support.
