Dorothy “Dot” Mae (Shiplett) Botkin, 74, widow of Russell Weldon Botkin, of Staunton, went home on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Augusta Health, Fishersville.

She was born November 27, 1946, in Deerfield, a daughter of the late Karl and Vesta (Eckard) Shiplett.

She worked at Genesco for 30 years then got her CNA and worked at Augusta Medical Center.

She attended Calvary Assembly of God.

She loved family dinners and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverley Graham; and three brothers, Ernest, Howard, and Leon Shiplett.

Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Angela Botkin of Staunton; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dean Woodward of Hagerstown, Maryland; three grandchildren, Kristen Armstrong, Tommy Price, and Ryan Botkin; and three great grandchildren, Kaileigh, Autumn, and Austyn Armstrong.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Kevin Persinger.

There will be no public visitation, but friends are welcome to view and sign the guest register from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Henry Funeral Home.
