Allirea Dorothy “Dot” Robertson Hartless passed on to her heavenly reward on January 20, 2021 at the home of her son Tim and his wife Cindy.
She was born on December 28, 1934 in Montebello, a daughter of the late Luie George Robertson and Mattie Allen Blackwell.
Dot was a faithful member of Greenville Baptist Church where she was involved in many activities including Church Secretary, bible school teacher, and hospitality committee member.
Dot attended Dunsmore Business School and retired from GE/Genicom in Waynesboro after more than 40 years. She also served the community through the Staunton Moose Lodge and was elected Senior Regent for Women of the Moose.
She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Hite Hartless, Jr. In addition, she is survived by her five children, Debbie Sandridge (H.O.) of Greenville, Gary (Bernice) of Amissville, Allirea Brumley (Ronald) of Kingsport, TN, Dwayne (Shari) of Advance, NC, and Tim (Cindy) of South Riding, VA; and a sister, Jacqueline Thompson of Raphine. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren (with another one due in June).
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Timber Ridge ARP Church Cemetery, 73 Sam Houston Way, Timber Ridge, VA 24450. The family will be observing the CDC COVID precautions of face masks and social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Greenville Baptist Church, 57 Church St., Greenville, VA 24440.
