EARL E. MORRIS VERONA, VA Earl Edward Morris, 80, husband of Barbara (Coffey) Morris, of 67 Meade Park Circle, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 1, 2015, at his residence. He was born July 13, 1934, in Rockingham County, a son of the late Gladys Morris Crummitt. Prior to retirement, Mr. Morris was employed by the Staunton Public Works Department. He was a member of the Verona United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife of 48 years, family members include two sons, Bobby Morris and friend, Tonya, of Waynesboro and James E. Morris and wife, Angela, of Goshen; a grandson, James C. Morris; and a brother, Franklin Morris and wife, Janet, of Staunton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015, in Verona United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Weeks. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Morris, James E. Morris, James C. Morris, Robert Coffey, Charles Coffey, and Joseph Coffey. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Open Door Sunday school class and the V.U.M.C. Men's Mission Team, Terry Smith, Wayne Smith, Paul Tutwiler, Jerry Van Lear, Kit Austin, and Titus Showalter. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church. Special thanks to Hospice of the Shenandoah caregivers and special friends, Teddy and Treva. Memorials may be made to Verona United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 47, Verona, VA 24482. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
