EDITH ISABELLE (MONEYMAKER) LAWHORN GOODMAN Was born December 30, 1926 in Augusta County to Harry Franklin and Lucy Sweet Moneymaker. She was a homemaker and CNA at Oak Hill Nursing Home for 23 years. She retired in June 1998 because of ill health. She was of United Brethren Faith. Survivors include a wonderful son, Richard Henry Lawhorn of Middlebrook; three lovely daughters, Cathy Faith Price and husband, William (Billy) of Staunton, Christy Hope Selmon and husband, Donnie of Greenville and Carol Raye Lawhorn-Burnette and husband, Jimmy of Staunton. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, John H., Harry W. (Jack) and Boyd L. (Bud) Moneymaker; four sisters, Betty Knicely, Emma Hawpe, Catherine Moneymaker and Lillian Moneymaker and an infant daughter, Charity Raye Lawhorn. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2013, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton by the Rev. R. Douglas Gunsalus. Burial will follow at New Providence Presbyterian Church near Brownsburg. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joshua Bennett, Michael Grogan, R.W. Grogan, Jonathan Lawhorn, Steven Selmon, Jared Selmon and Justin Selmon. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Jennifer Bennett, Nikki Stegal, Kristen Cassidy, Chelsea McGuffin, Heather Lawhorn and Charity Lawhorn. Memorials may be made to the Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, VA 24402.
