Edith Mae Grimm

EDITH R. GRIMM STAUNTON, VA Edith Mae (Root) Grimm, 89, widow of William Waldo Grimm, of 72 Backmeadow Lane, Staunton, died Friday, January 6, 2012 at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, June and Paul Davis, Jr. She was born May 22, 1922, in Orange County, a daughter of the late Kennie D. and Elva Gertrude (Armstrong) Root. In addition to her husband of 69 years, who died July 15, 2011, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph, Claude, Joe, Jack and Eugene Root and two sisters, Evelyn Wright and Madeline Burns. Family members include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy Landes of Maryland, June and Paul "Butch" Davis, Jr. and Joline and Scott Garland, all of Staunton; eight grandsons; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Beulah Root of Mt. Sidney; and two sisters, Helen Hanger and Nellie Hamilton. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jamie McClanahan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the A.M.C. Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O.
