EDITH C. SUMMERS VERONA, VA Edith Mae (Crawford) Summers, 81, widow of John Tomlinson Summers, of 63 Verona Court Blvd., died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at her residence. She was born August 29, 1932, in Covington, a daughter of the late Paul Raymond and Pearl Virginia (Stevers) Crawford. Prior to retirement, she was a public health nurse assistant for the Waynesboro Health Department. She was a hairdresser and loved cooking. She was the cornerstone of her family, and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She was a member of Verona United Methodist Church. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Edwin "Eddie" and Kim Summers of Fort Defiance; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Summers; two sons-in-law, Mike Huffman and Ron Sites; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia Faye and Paul Robinson of Elkins; ten grandchildren, Bill Via, Jonathan Lihos, Jeremiah Lihos, Rebecca Hall, Stephen Huffman, David Huffman, Rita Summers, Michael Summers, Brandon Summers, and Raymond Edwin Summers, II; and twenty-two great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Tomlinson Summers, Jr.; two daughters, Cynthia Lee Huffman and Diane Faye Sites; and three brothers, Alfred B. Crawford, Paul R. Crawford, and Robert L. Crawford. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013, in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Dennis Sites. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013, at her residence, and from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Henry Funeral Home.
