EDNA S. MOYER STAUNTON, VA Edna S. Moyer, 81, widow of Harry B. Moyer, Jr., of Staunton, VA, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 28, 2015. She was born August 13, 1934, in Deerfield, a daughter of the late Summers T. Shiplett, Sr., and Myrtle (Plecker) Shiplett Michael. She was a senior member of Calvary Assembly of God Church. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Moyer-Shadel and Sharon Moyer Thompson, and husband, Edward C. Thompson, Jr.; four grandchildren, Harry Michael Herndon, Karen E. Perez, Gregory A. Nuckoles wife, Andrea, and Roderick C. Nuckoles, Jr.; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Summers T. Shiplett, Jr., wife, Ethel; two special friends, Betty Newsome and her ex son-in-law, Roderick C. Nuckoles, Sr. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Calvary Assembly of God by the Rev. Kevin Persinger and Gregory Miller. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in the Henry Funeral Home.
