Edward Mcdonald Fridley

STAUNTON, VA Edward McDonald Fridley, 78, of 125 Straith Street, died Saturday, November 9, 2013, in Augusta Springs. He was born on August 6, 1935, in Augusta Springs, and was the son of the late Ira and Florence (McCutcheon) Fridley. Mr. Fridley was retired from Stanley Furniture where he was a supervisor for 33 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman who knew more about nature than most of us could ever hope. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Nellie Juanita (Johnson) Fridley. Family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Brenda Fridley, Edward R. and Cindy Fridley, and Tim and Angel Fridley, All of Staunton; seven grandchildren, Isaiah and Micah Fridley, Krystal and Kyndall Fridley, Carmen "Stevie" Fridley, Ashley Fischer of Honolulu, HI, and Buck Windsor of Woodstock; and four great grandchildren, Tristan Labarbera, Brayson and Kenley Windsor, and Rylee Fischer. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Ray Eppard and Joe Sherrill. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Bo Rankin, Leon Brooks, Jay Stover, Debbie Tanksley, Dennis Collawn, and Hansford Johnson. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in the funeral home and other times at the residence of his son, Edward R. Fridley, 116 Wayne Avenue, Staunton.
