EDWARD G. McCRAY  STAUNTON, VA… Edward G. McCray passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home, 87 Arborhill Road, Staunton. Eddie was born on December 2, 1949 to the late Charles E. and Shirley G. McCray.  He graduated from Riverheads High School class of ‘68 and attended Blue Ridge Community College. He was employed at G.E., Genicom and retired from Precision Fabricators. He also was a proud farmer, loved those “Red” tractors. He also loved drag racing his red 1966 Chevy II. He was a member of Southside Church of God.  Eddie adored his grandchildren and tried to never miss a ballgame when they were playing. He also loved his fur baby, BRU, who was his best buddy. The two of them took rides every day. On May 14, 1971 he was united in marriage to Barbara Armstrong McCray, who survives. Left to cherish his memory is a daughter and son-in-law, Misty Dawn McCray Fletcher and Robert E. Fletcher, Sr.; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven Edward McCray and Karman Hemp McCray; five grandchildren, Robert E. Fletcher, Jr., Victoria Paige Fletcher, Cole Edward Fletcher, Savanna Stuart McCray, and Tanner Edward McCray; and two special cousins, R.B. Glover and Kay Buchanan. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 in Southside Church of God by Pastor Phillip Morgan.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Southside Church of God, 35 First Street, Staunton, VA 24401 or Cat’s Cradle, 122 S. Main Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22801. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
