EDWARD L. SUTTON STAUNTON, VA Edward Leroy Sutton, 67, husband of Susan E. (Shinpaugh) Sutton, of 921 Donaghe Street, died Saturday, May 12, 2012, at his residence. He was born November 18, 1944, in Staunton, a son of the late Harding and Elizabeth (Patterson) Sutton. Mr. Sutton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and National Guard, having served 20 years. Prior to retirement, he was employed by VDOT. He loved his country, his grandchildren, and his dog, Buddy. In addition to his wife of 46 years, family members include, a granddaughter, Kelsie E. Sutton; a step-grandson, Charles A. Fitzgerald; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Keith Horn of Churchville; a brother, Rick Sutton of the Philippines; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Allen Sutton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Harold W. "Pete" Campbell. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Gravesite rites will be conducted by the Staunton VFW Post 2216. Active pallbearers will be John Arehart, Milton Estes, Dwight Cason, Marvin Brumbagh, Bill Shoemaker, Jerry Argenbright, and Charles A. Fitzgerald. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Liskey, Brian Argenbright, Aaron Argenbright, Men of the Romeo Group, and the Methodist Men Group.
