ELAINE C. BRITT STAUNTON, VA Elaine Grace (Cash) Britt, 72, widow of Carl Sillings Britt, Jr., of 13 Grubert Avenue, died Friday, December 30, 2011, at her residence. She was born July 20, 1939, in McDowell, a daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Bryant) Cash. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Britt was employed by Genesco with 37 years of service. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles "Buck" Cash, Roy and Ray Cash, Benjamin "Benny" Cash, Nelson "Nickel" Cash, and Harold A. Cash, Sr. Family members include a daughter, Judy Britt of Staunton; and a sister, Frances "Peggy" Britt of Staunton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Robert J. Weeks. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Larry Lawhorne, Harold Cash, Jr., Gary Cash, Butch Britt, Lee Cash, and Willie Snyder. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012, in the funeral home and other times at the residence.
