ROANOKE, VA….   Juliette Elaine (Moomau) Shifflett Mason passed away on November 20, 2015 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  She was born on August 21, 1926 in Greenville, VA.  She was the widow of Robert Franklin Shifflett, Jr. who was deceased on December 9, 2003.  She was the daughter of the late Ralph Moore Moomau and Virginia Vines Moomau.   Elaine is survived by her son Ronald Brian Shifflett and wife Janet Wade Shifflett of Stuarts Draft, VA.  There are three grandchildren: Ronald Brian Shifflett II and wife Julie of Lyndhurst, VA, Ashley Shifflett Tyree and husband Chris of Greenville, VA, and Adam Robert Shifflett and wife Ashley of Stuarts Draft, VA.  Surviving are six great-grandchildren; Sierra Lotts, Jack Shifflett, Berkeley Tyree, Nolan Tyree, Lyla Shifflett and Lucian Shifflett.  She is also survived by one brother, R.M. Moomau, Jr. of Staunton, VA and three sisters: Dolly Hite of Yorktown, VA, Crannie Campbell of Greenville, VA and Shan Conley of St. Mary’s, Georgia.   In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Quinnlyn, Rock, Lionel and Alvin and two sisters:  Lorraine Miller and Nedra Dawn (Girlie) Moomau.   In 2014 she married Sidney Dean Mason of Rocky Mount, VA who survives.  She is also survived by step-children Tom & Becky Mason of Roanoke, VA, Dave and Betty Thorpe of Rocky Mount, VA and Bill & Marianne Jordan of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.   There are four grandchildren and their spouses: David and Liz Mason, Jessica and Dave Cote’, Travis and Erin Thorp and Taylor & Shelly Thorp.  There are also four great-grandsons: Mason, Dean, Logan and Riley.  Elaine graduated from Spottswood High School and Dunsmore Business College.  She worked at DuPont in Waynesboro for 39 years and was Secretary to the Plant Manager for several years.   She was a member of the Greenville United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher of the Senior Highs, President of the Adult Fellowship, Secretary of the Church Council and Secretary of the United Methodist Women.  She was also Secretary of the Greenville Athletic Club.   The family will receive friends at the Henry Funeral Home in Staunton, VA on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Friends desiring to call on the family may do so at the home of her grandchildren Chris and Ashley Tyree at 250 Greenville School Road, Greenville, VA.   Services will be conducted on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Greenville United Methodist Church in Greenville, VA.  Services will be conducted by the Reverend Dr. Kevin Haynes and Reverend Gus Wright.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.   Active pallbearers are Marty Miller, Kevin Miller, Ricky Moomau, Rock Moomau, Ned Campbell, and Curt Hite.   Honorary pallbearers are John Bodkin, Jerry Coffey, John Lynn, C.W. Davis, Stahli Redard, David Benson, Bobbie Bocock, Billy Burnett, Otis Hinton and Sidney Supple.   The family requests that memorials be made to the Greenville United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 250, Greenville, VA  24440.
