ELIZABETH B. CROSBY Staunton – Elizabeth Brown Crosby, 88, of 524 Cedar Green Road, died at her home February 7, 2018.  Mrs. Crosby was born in Staunton on August 30, 1929, daughter of the late Marion and Frances Irvine Brown.  She was married to James Carlyle Crosby nearly 62 years before he preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Irvine Brown and Mary Lou Brown Myrvik.  A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she lived a life of generosity and devotion to others.  All who knew her were enriched by her kindness and gentle nature. Mrs. Crosby was educated in Augusta County public schools and graduated from the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Dayton, Virginia.  She was a faithful member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.  Surviving are her son, Harry H. Crosby and wife, Beverley of Staunton; two daughters, Barbara Crosby Damico and husband, Larry of Staunton; Nancy Crosby Preston and husband, Matthew of Putney, Vermont; grandchildren Annica Damico, William and Tara Crosby, James and Amanda Crosby, Maggie and Kyle Edwards, Olivia Damico, Lillian Damico, Aaron and Erin Crosby, Julian Preston, James Preston; and three great-grandchildren, Alaina, Scarlett, and Kenneth Crosby. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Henry Funeral Home, Staunton.  A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Roy A. Martin.  Burial will be private. The family wishes to thank Dr. H. Lynn Moore, Hospice of Augusta, and special caregivers Amanda Young, Karen Michael, Leslie Scheffel, and Raeleene Beaudine for their compassion and care.  Memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, 563 Bethel Green Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
