WAYNESBORO, VA… Ella Louise (Desper) Shipe, 68, widow of Bobby Allen Shipe, of 52 Ox Road, died Monday, November 7, 2016, in the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. She was born May 23, 1948 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Howard and Katherine (Bowman) Desper. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Shipe was co-owner of Bob’s Paint and Body Shop. She loved vegetable and flower gardens. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jean Desper and Delores Hale. Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Amanda Shipe; her close friend, Jerry Johnson; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Brenda Desper, Wendell and Kay Desper, and Thomas and Pat Desper; a brother-in-law, Jerry Hale; a granddaughter, Hailey Shipe; a grandson, Jacob Shipe; an aunt, Joyce Burch; and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tom Reynolds. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
