EMMA E. FITZGERALD RAPHINE, VA Emma Marie (Eakin) Fitzgerald, 86, widow of Wilbur Newell Fitzgerald, of 7749 North Lee Highway, Raphine, died Sunday, December 29, 2013, in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. She was born August 3, 1927, in Fairfield, a daughter of the late John Don and Artie Beatrice (McClung) Eakin. Mrs. Fitzgerald retired from Jane Colby. She was a member of Greenville Baptist Church. Family members include a son, Donald Ray Fitzgerald of Fairfield; two daughters, Carol Yvonne St. Clair and Connie Marie Groah, of Steeles Tavern; a brother, James Winston Eakin; a sister, Annie Beatrice Durr; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday (January 3, 2014) in Greenville Baptist Church by the Rev. James "Jamie" McClanahan. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
