Emmett Maynard Clark

EMMETT M. CLARK STAUNTON, VA Emmett went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 7, 2013. Not only was he an amazing man, but he handled his sickness with such grace, never complaining. He was a kind, generous man who always had a smile. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Emmett was a big Jeff Gordon (#24) fan and enjoyed watching all the races. He loved his church, reading the bible and serving his Lord and Savior. Emmett was the son of the late Sam and Otie Clark of Buena Vista. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Bob Clark. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet K. Clark; James Larry Potter and Steve Wolcott (who both he was so proud to call sons); mother-in-law, Pauline Corbin; two daughters, Amy White and Nancy Clark of Jacksonville, Florida; granddaughter, Gabrielle White of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Ruby Clark of Buena Vista and Juanita Jordan of Louisa; two brothers, Lucky Clark of Buena Vista and Marshall Clark of Gordonsville. Emmett is also survived by special friends, Willis and Evelyn Jones and family, Dawn Wolcott, Sheila Potter, Jamie and Rhea Higginbottom, Lou and Maggie West, Ronnie Via, Dale Thompson and a special church buddy, Destiny Potter. Emmett had a special love for his Boston Terrier, Sadie Mac. Special thanks is extended to Hospice of the Shenandoah and all of Hospice volunteers, doctors and nurses at the Staunton University Cancer Center and to all the many friends who have helped and supported us during this time of sickness and bereavement. Family night will be from 4 until 5 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 129 Bellview Street, Staunton.
