Erskine Louis Sandy

STAUNTON,VA... Erskine L. Sandy, 85, husband of Catherine (Simmons) Armstrong, formerly of 304 Campbell St, passed away Saturday August 31, 2013, in Falling Waters, WV. He was born February 17, 1928 in Staunton, a son of the late Frank W. and Hessie (Harris) Sandy. Prior to retirement, Mr. Sandy worked in maintenance at Deer Park Apartments in Manassas. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #680. In addition to his wife, family includes three sons, James L. Sandy of Staunton; Ronnie Armstrong and his wife, Kathy, of Falling Waters, WV, and Rickie Armstrong and his wife, Sherry, of Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Kay Thompson and her husband, Dale, of Staunton, and Mary Haley and her husband Philip, of Hedgesville, WV; a brother, Harold Sandy of Waldorf, MD; and ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2013 in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Reverend Harold "Pete" Campbell. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Henry Funeral Home.
