EVELYN L. BERRY MINT SPRING, VA Evelyn Lewis Berry, 85, of Mint Spring, died Saturday May 2, 2015 at Augusta Health. She was born December 8, 1929, in Mint Spring, a daughter of the late Walter C. Berry, Sr. and Dolly (Ballew) Berry. Ms. Berry was a lifelong member of Mint Spring United Methodist Church where she served as organist for many years. She was very active in the church where she enjoyed many activities and friends. Prior to her retirement, she served as Postmaster of the Mint Spring Post Office. Family members include sister-in-law, Anna Ruth Berry; three nieces, Donna Berry, Linda Blaine and her husband Tom, and Shirley Matherly and her husband John; two great nephews, Tyler and Jack; a great niece, Tara; and many cousins, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister; Walter C. Berry, Jr., Marvin Berry and Nancy Berry. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Mint Spring United Methodist Church by Rev. Terry Clark. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Scott Glenn, Robert Glenn, George "Ronnie" Earhart, Kevin Jarvis, Ned Sparks and Phil Spalding. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mint Spring United Methodist Church Sewing Bee Members. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in the Henry Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lynn Moore and Eloise for all of their kindness and care over the years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mint Spring United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 14, Mint Spring, VA, 24463.
