PASTOR EVERETT C. MCCULLEY VERONA, VA Pastor Everett Coleman McCulley, 88, husband of Susie (Entsminger) McCulley, of Verona, died Thursday, October 23, 2014, at his residence. He was born May 1, 1926 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, and graduated from Effinger High School on June 6, 1944. He served in the U.S. Army 1944-1946, and was wounded twice while serving with General George S. Patton's Third Army in Germany. Mr. McCulley married Susie Entsminger of Collierstown, Va. August 1, 1954. The couple raised three children: Mark McCulley of Ephrata, PA; Paul McCulley of Newport Beach, CA; and Mary McCulley who preceded her father in death on Nov. 17, 1976. Mr. McCulley earned the Bachelor of Religious Education and Bachelor of Theology degrees from Piedmont Bible College, Winston-Salem, NC; the Bachelor of Arts degree from Guilfod College, Greensboro, NC; and the Master of Divinity degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Chicago, IL. Rev. McCulley was ordained to Gospel Ministry in July, 1958 by the Gospel Baptist Church of Greensboro, NC. Rev. McCulley devoted more than forty years of his life to ministerial training, pastoral ministry, church planting, and Bible College teaching. Mr. McCulley is also survived by three grandchildren: Marsha McCulley and Kevin McCulley and wife, Laura of Ephrata, PA and Jonathan McCulley of Newport Beach, CA. He is also survived by one sister, Josie Marie Duncan of Charleston, WV. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2014 at Shenandoah Baptist Church, Verona, by Pastors Don Mallory, Dale Meyerhoeffer, Allan Smith, and Stanley Cline. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Fred Botkin, Bart Barry, David Franklin, Danny George, Larry Curry, Joe Kennedy, Sam Mullins, Larry Propst, and Sam Hamilton. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2014 in the Henry Funeral Home.
