It Was Time
By Barbara Lee Bridwell

Everyone called you Nana
Brett named you that at 4 months old.
I pray that God will mend his broken heart
and shelter him from this cold.

On the day god called you home
my world crashed there on the floor.
Consumed by heartbreak. I realized you weren't with me anymore.

Every breath you take is now fresh
You walk, you jump, you run.
I knew the day before you passed
that your work on Earth was done.

I hoipe you found comfort in your Mothers arms.
and that your Father rode you piggyback
I hope you run through field with Danny
It can't get better than that.

You taught me to love without condition
communication in love is key.
You earned your wings and Halo
So don't you worry about me.

The void in my heart is vast
loosing my mother and best friend.
I'll see you in my dreams each night
Til I can be with you again

God called you home cause
it was time
I now stand solo but not alone
For God He will stay here with me
til I can make it on my own.

For you Mom.
I'll love you always
