Eloise H. Moore

Eloise (Hewitt) Moore, 88, wife of Dr. H. Lynn Moore, passed away on November 21, 2021 at her home. She was most well known as “Ma” to close friends and family.

Mrs. Moore was born on October 27, 1933 in Swoope to the late Elton and Ruby (Harris) Hewitt.

Eloise was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. Ma is most well known for her many charitable acts in the community and as a loving mother and wife.

In addition to her husband of 65 years, she is survived by her sons, Douglas Moore (Myran) of Wyoming and Joe Moore (Tabby) of Staunton; her daughters, Kay Agee (Warren) of Keysville, VA, Sally Williams (Joe) of Greenville, and Dinah Johnston-White (Randy) of Oklahoma; her sister, Evie Pyne of Staunton; her brothers, Clay Hewitt and Elton Hewitt, Jr.; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jean Wise.

A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. at the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Rev. Kelly-Ann Rayle.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 355 Rio Rd W STE 102, Charlottesville, VA 22901.

Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.
