Eugene W. Corbin Sr.
Gene Wilson Corbin, Sr., 93, died on August 31, 2021 at Augusta Health.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance “Connie” Gertrude Dull Corbin on June 6, 1978, by his mother in 1988, by his father in 1990, by his brother, Ray Corbin, Jr. in 1969, by his son, Eugene Corbin, Jr. on January 10, 2021, and by his daughter, Donna Corbin Stewart on May 17, 2021.
He was born in Staunton, VA at 10 Academy Street on April 5, 1928, the son of Ray Carlton Corbin and Gertrude Rosen. He served in WWII in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Corbin was an active member of Fifth Street United Brethren Church, where he served in many positions.
He is survived by his son-in-law, Jeff Stewart of Staunton, and his daughter-in-law, Charito Corbin of Staunton. He has two grandchildren, Joshua Stewart of Harrisonburg and Michelle Stewart Snider and her husband Dylan Snider of Fort Collins, CO; and two great grandchildren, Ivy Snider and Zealand Snider. He has a nephew, Ronnie Corbin and his wife, Barbara of Augusta Springs and a niece, Gayle Carr and her husband Bob, of Staunton.
There will be no service or family night planned according to Mr. Corbin’s wishes.
