Eugene “Gene” Milard Moyers, 87, widower of Betty Jane (Blair) Moyers, passed away Saturday July 14, 2018 in Staunton, Va.  He was born on November 8, 1930 in Augusta County, VA, a son of the late James L. Moyers and Lillie May (Miller) Moyers.  He was a charter member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.  Gene retired from American Safety Razor and Quicks Bus Service with many years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 7th division, 32nd Infantry, Company K. Mr. Moyers proudly served his country in Korea, and received a Purple Heart, a Combat Infantry Badge, and a Korean Service Ribbon.  “PePaw” loved children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a tight bond and love for his brothers and sisters also. He was completely unselfish and would drop anything he was doing to pitch in and help. He was a great handyman and tinkerer. He is survived by a son, Marc Blair Moyers and wife Janie, two daughters, Dana Anne Moyers Wandless and husband Marc, Michele Elaine Moyers Painter and husband Bobby; 6 grandchildren, Cara Britt (Doug), Caitlyn Starcher (Geoff), Tyler, Elliot, and Ethan Wandless, and Ruth Blair Moyers; 2 great-grandchildren, Greyer Starcher and Lillie Britt, a sister, Archie Mae Moyers Forsythe and a brother Donald Eldridge Moyers.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Ann Moyers Cox and a brother, Julian Kenneth Moyers.  A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday July 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Military rites will be provided by Augusta-Staunton VFW Post #2216.   A family burial will be held before the service.  A special thanks to Royal Care, VA Home Based Primary Care, and Hospice Care.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Henry Funeral Home.   Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.henryfuneralhome.net
