FONDA R. PERSINGER RAPHINE, VA… Fonda Sue Rankin Persinger age 52, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at her residence.  She was born Sept 3, 1965 in Staunton and resided at 70 Dabney's Rd, Raphine with her loving husband and best friend, Duane Persinger, whom she was married for 28 years. Fonda leaves behind one son, Cody Duane who has always been the light in her eye, and her new daughter-in-law, Sheridan, whom she loved as her own daughter. Also surviving are her parents, Jim & Dottie Rankin of Staunton, who have been great role models in her life. She has one sister and best friend, Darlene, and her husband Mickey, the brother she didn't have. She loved them both dearly and along with a nephew, Zack Strickler, who is dear to her heart. Including in those she leaves behind, a mother-in-law, Helen Persinger, who she adored.  A brother and sister-in-law, David and Stacie Persinger, and their 4 children, Brooke, Samantha, Kooper, and Andrew whom she also adored.  Also 2 very special uncles who were like brothers. Wayne & Gary Rankin, both of Staunton, and a special aunt, Sandy Rankin. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Russell & Edna Rankin; Luther and Maggie Spitler of Staunton. Along with a father-in-law, Alfred Persinger of Raphine. Fonda was employed by Hollister in Stuarts Draft for 23 years as a machine operator. She was a devoted servant of the Lord and worshipped with her church family at Growing Together Fellowship. She lived her life serving Jesus Christ and brought many people to the Lord. She had a friend everywhere she went. She had a smile that would warm everyone's heart. Her life was so blessed with love and laughter that she has asked to celebrate with all who come near. She said to "Remember Me as you knew me. Happy and at Peace." Her Celebration of life will be held Monday, August 27, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Henry Funeral Home of Staunton and graveside services to follow at Old Providence Church Cemetery by Pastor Ronnie Harris. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home With love in her heart she asked personally for the following active pallbearers, Todd Fitzgerald, Larry Campbell, Danny Fitzgerald, JR Fitzgerald, Alan Huntley, Matt Moore and Larry Wood. Her honorary pallbearers will be her care givers and close friends whom she loved unconditionally, Vickie Gilbert, Amy Campbell, Sherry Shafer, Theresa Moore, Robin Huntley, Pat Fitzgerald, Angie Wenger, and Stephanie Fitzgerald. She would like to thank everyone for their support and all who helped through this difficult time. "Although we are never prepared for death and to say good-bye, walking through this journey has been an enjoyable journey for some.  I love you all and will look forward to seeing you again."
