FRANCES B. BENNETT STAUNTON, VA Frances Betty (Flynn) Bennett, 94, widow of Samuel V. Bennett, of 512 Houston Street, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, in Envoy of Staunton. She was born March 20, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Bernard and Emma (Bergman) Flynn. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Bennett worked as a secretary. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol during the Korean Era. She was a life-long member of Westwood United Methodist Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Betty's accomplishments as an artist are a tribute to her eye for beauty and the disposition of a friendly heart. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert C. and Lillie Bennett of Swoope; a daughter, Patricia I. Bennett of Staunton; a sister, Margie Goodfellow of New Freedom, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Salvation Army, 1700 West Beverley Street, Staunton, VA 24401 or to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 30, P.O. Box 1621, Waynesboro, VA 22980. The family would like to thank the staff at Envoy for their affectionate care of Betty. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
