FRANKLIN D. MOOMAU  VERONA, VA… Franklin Delano Moomau, 82, husband of Betty Fultz Moomau, of 67 Hillside Drive, met Jesus on Wednesday, February 8th, 2017.  He died at home with family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather… he lived for his family.  He was born August 7, 1934 in Augusta County.  Frank attended Wilson Memorial High School and continued his education during the 4 years in the Air Force during the Korean War.  He was owner of P & M Office Specialty Co., Inc in Waynesboro until retirement in 2001.  Frank will be remembered for his Cross Ministry.  He made crosses in his wood shop which were placed in numerous churches in the area.  He wore a nail cross and gave one to anyone who commented on it.  He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and served as a Chairman of the Finance Committee, Administrative Council, and Trustees and was very active in the church in many other ways. He was the son of the late Charley Mason Moomau and Ethel (Daugherty) Moomau. Survived by his wife of 61 years, and daughters, Terry (Wayne) Gosnell, Brenda (Joe) Lucus; son, Dennis (Teresa) Moomau; a sister, Gladys Houser; grandchildren, Crissy (Brad) Monger, Ryan (Lesley) Brady, Sean Brady, Mandy (SJ) Borden; step grandchildren, Colby (Laken) Bosserman and Courtney Bosserman; great grandchildren, Savanna and Emmalyn Monger, Keira and Declan Brady, Conor and Olivia Brady; a step great granddaughter, Kayton Altizer; and a number of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by siblings, Hazel Via, Mason Moomau, Florence Via, Wallace Moomau, Leona Davis and Melvin Moomau. Active pallbearers will be Ryan Brady, Sean Brady, Brad Monger, S J Borden, Lyle Houser, Jr., Dale Davis, Donnie Houser and Colby Bosserman. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Elective Bible Study Sunday School Class. Service by Rev. Don Carlton, Rev. Ed Pruitt and Rev. Sarah Locke. Family visitation will be at Christ United Methodist Church, Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm and other times at the residence. Funeral service will be Monday, February 13, 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church at 2pm.  Burial at Augusta Memorial Park.  The family would like to express a special “Thank you” to Dr. David Massey & Roxanne and Beverley Brown and Cathy Anderson and the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for the wonderful care given Frank during his illness along with the love and support shown by neighbors, friends and members of Christ United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested those desiring make a memorial contribution to Christ United Methodist Church, 1512 Churchville Ave., Staunton, VA 24401 or a charity of your choice.
