Fred Heizer Perry

RAPHINE, VA Fred Heizer Perry, 74, husband of Jane R. Perry, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 in Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born January 1, 1939 in Raphine to the late Fred Heizer, Sr. and Allie Lee (Ramsey) Perry. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Verizon. Mr. Perry had also served in the U.S. Army from 1963 until 1965. In addition to his wife, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Fred "Buzzy" and Crystal Perry of Vesuvius; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jimmy Bell of Waynesboro; a brother Bob Perry and wife, Betty Sue, of Fairfield; a sister, Mary Gatton and husband, Bob, of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Justin Brooks, Jennifer Kennedy, James, Madison, and Hunter Perry, and a step grandchild Jessica Bell; and seven great grandchildren, Kaleigh and Jesse Perry, Christopher, Zachary, and Natalie Brooks, Levi and Luke Kennedy, and step great grandchild, Dylan Meadows. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church. The service will be conducted by Pastor Michael Eastman. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Cemetery. Graveside rights will be conducted by the Augusta-Staunton V.F.W. Post 2216. Active pallbearers will be Charlie May, Layne King, Sam Lunsford, Kenny Campbell, E R Brooks, Jr., Jeff Brooks, Jimmy Bell, and James "Pop" Bell.
