Garland Fleming Easter

GARLAND F. EASTER FISHERSVILLE, VA Garland Fleming Easter, 72, husband of Evelyn JoAnn Easter, of 164 Goose Creek Road, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born December 9, 1940, in Amelia County, a son of the late Howard Joseph and Flossie Addlea (Spease) Easter. Garland was an auto mechanic, and owned his own business, Garland F. Easter and Sons Excavating for 38 years. He was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church where he was a former trustee. He was a lifetime member of Copeland Hunting Club. In addition to his wife of 52 years, family members include his children, Garland F. Easter, Jr. and his wife, Melony, Faith E. Cale and her husband, Jimmy, Timothy D. Easter and wife, Shelly, and Steven T. Easter; numerous foster children, especially, Tommy Via; six grandchildren, Garland, Matt and Amber Easter, April Smith, Jimmy Cale, and Sarah Easter; seven great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mitchell and Kathy Easter and Pete and Jennie Easter; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Becky and Randy Denny, Rachel and Duke Dickerson, and Dana Donahue. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Easter, Jr; and a brother-in-law, Dick Donahue. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013, in Shenandoah Baptist Church by the Rev. Everett McCulley. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family and men of the church. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service in the church.
