STUARTS DRAFT, VA Gary Daniel Jarvis, 31, husband of Monica Renee (Marshall) Jarvis, of 2135 Stuarts Draft Highway, earned his wings on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22, 2012, at his residence. He was born July 22, 1981, in Waynesboro, a son of Terri (Knicely) Jarvis of Stuarts Draft and the late David Wilson Jarvis. He was an EMT, saving lives with the Churchville Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Fairfield Rescue Departments. In addition to his wife and mother, family members include a brother, Michael Ray Jarvis of Stuarts Draft and his girlfriend, Jess Shifflett; grandmothers, Vivian Jarvis of Stuarts Draft and Patricia Bright of Richmond; a grandfather, William Larry Knicely of Port Republic; a special mother-in-law, Debbie Marshall; several aunts and uncles; a special friend, Brittany Traylor; and a host of other family and friends. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond "Pops" Jarvis. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday, November 28, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Rose and Pastor Doug Paysuer. Burial will follow in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Michael Jarvis, Ralph Brewer, DJ. Meadows, Alllen Meadows, Paul Hoy, and John Pecor. Honorary pallbearers will be all the brother and sister EMS and fire personnel present at the service. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in the funeral home and other times at the Jarvis residence. Memorials may be made to any local volunteer rescue squad.
