GEORGE F. COFFEY  GREENVILLE, VA… George F. Coffey, 78, of Greenville passed away peacefully at his home on July 30, 2018. He is a graduate of Spottswood High School and then began his career as a Class A Contractor. He traveled and sang bass for 37 years with the Good News Gospel Quartet. He then found great pleasure in listening to his son sing with The Crestmen. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Addie Laura Harris Coffey; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Larry Lotts and Pamela and Stephen Ladue; a son and daughter-in-law, George F., II and Gina Coffey; three grandchildren, Katie, Kelly and Trey Coffey; a sister and brother-in-law, Adis and Tommy Fultz; nephews, Danny and Curtis Fultz; and a brother-in-law, Oran Eakin.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Yoast Coffey; his mother, Maggie Wilson Coffey; and sisters, Ester Demastus and Vera Eakin. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor David Ball and the Rev. John Sullivan. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Joe Fauber, Ray Kimble, Kevin Rexrode, Rick Hall, Dakota Tomlin, and Jeff Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Oran Eakin, Jerry Clark, Curtis Riley, Cecil McGee, Danny Fultz, Curtis Fultz, Doug Harris, Larry Carver, and Hedley Coffey.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in the funeral home. A special thank you to Dr. H. Lynn Moore and all the caregivers. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of the Shenandoah, c/o Augusta Health Foundation, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939.
