George Edward Johnson, Sr.

GEORGE E. JOHNSON, SR.  STAUNTON, VA… George (Butch) Edward Johnson, Sr., 68, husband of Monique (Gillet) Johnson, of Hopewell, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell. He was born November 6, 1949 in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Augustus Stallsworth and  Margaret Dorothy Johnson.    Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a Purple Heart recipient.   In addition to his wife, family members include a son, George E. Johnson, Jr. of Staunton; a brother, Hosea Berkley of Chesterfield; and two sisters, Teresa Curry of Waynesboro and Kathy Sutherland of Charleston, SC.  A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel.
