Geraldine Ada Lananger Cook

GERALDINE L. COOK FISHERSVILLE, VA…             Geraldine Ada Lananger Cook, 80, widow of Isaac Garthwaite Cook of Fishersville, died Monday, December 19, 2016, in Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center.             She was born May 3, 1936, in Potter County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ethel (Champlin) Lananger.             Prior to retirement, Mrs. Cook was employed by Bolivar Central School in Bolivar, New York.             In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Lananger and a sister, Bev Laughton.             Family members include a son, Isaac E. Cook, Jr.; three daughters, Beth Elaine Cook, Linda Jean Simpson, and Judy Ann Carlin; three brothers, Charles Lananger, Thomas Lananger, and Steve Lananger; three sisters, Jean Stives, Joyce Gaines, and pat Lananger; eight grandchildren, Mike Carlin, Allen Carlin, Robert Carlin, Lisa Carlin, Matt Carlin, Samantha Carlin, Amanda Dolson, and Jennifer Simpson; and three great grandchildren, Kali Dolson, Kaitlyn Dolson, and Ashley Dolson.             A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. in Bolivar, NY. Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery in New York.             Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Central and Western Virginia Chapter, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901.             Henry Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.
