Gilbert Carlton Combs

GILBERT C. COMBS VERONA, VA Gilbert Carlton Combs, 86, husband of Maybelle (Wittman) Combs, of Verona, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born August 19, 1925, in Rockville Centre, NY a son of the late Benjamin and Maude (Nylin) Combs. Prior to retirement, Mr. Combs was employed by the Parks Department as a supervisor. In addition to his wife, family members include a son, Russell Combs; a daughter, Laura Jean; and a granddaughter, Tiffany. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Combs. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2011, in Thornrose Cemetery by the Pastor Jamie McClanahan. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
